FAQ's

How do I ignite the fire?

Carefully pour fuel into the fireplace, clean up any spills on the edges or surrounding surface, and then ignite the fuel by touching it with a lit matchstick or flame.

How to I turn off the flame ?

The fireplace's base is ideal for this task. Simply glide the provided base-coaster over the top and leave it in place. This will cut off the oxygen supply, extinguishing the flame. After 5 seconds, lift the base-coaster to verify if the flame is out.

What if there is a spill of the flame does not turn off – should I pour water?

Never use water to extinguish this flame. In case of an accident or spillage, douse the fire with a generous amount of mud or sand to put it out.

Where should I store my Fuel bottle?

Ensure it is kept out of direct sunlight. Keep it away from electrical sockets or any electrical appliances. Store it out of the reach of children and animals. Avoid placing it near areas with any risk of fire, flames, or sparks. Store it in a cool, dark, dry place with the lid securely closed.

Can I add Fuel to the fireplace while it is still burning?

Absolutely NOT. Never add anything flammable to an active flame.

Can I use other fuels?

Although other fuels might burn, we strongly advise using only The Glimmer world Fuel. It is tested for safety, burns efficiently, and is cost-effective. There's really no need for anything else to get your fire going!

How long does it last?

Depending on factors such as ambient temperature, wind, and the amount of fuel used, you can expect a burn time of 40-50 minutes on a single fill under optimal conditions.

How long can I burn it?

We strongly recommend a 20-minute cooling period after two consecutive rounds of burning, as the outer casing can become too hot to handle with bare hands. Although The Glimmer World is designed to endure very high temperatures, it will still get hot to the touch. Allowing it to cool helps manage this heat. Additionally, the heat retained by the casing can cause the alcohol to burn more quickly and intensely, so a cool-down period helps mitigate this effect.

Can I touch the flame?

Absolutely NOT. This is fire, just like any other. Direct or even close contact with the flame can result in severe burns. Therefore, maintain a minimum distance of 12 inches from the flame at all times.
